My name is Ryan Jennings. I have been a web professional for many years. I am also a huge fan and advocate of bartering and the barter industry. In hopes of providing an inexpensive way to barter, I launched a local barter medium called BarterKC is local to the Kansas City Area. BarterKC allows users to create simple account profiles identifying who they are, what they do, and what they are interested in receiving through a barter. The website system contains tools to automatically match these local barter companies or individuals.

What is Bartering?

Bartering is a medium in which goods or services are directly exchanged for other goods and/or services without a common unit of exchange (without the use of money).[1] It can be bilateral or multilateral, and usually exists parallel to monetary systems in most developed countries, though to a very limited extent. Barter usually replaces money as the method of exchange in times of monetary crisis, when the currency is unstable and devalued by hyperinflation.
